Againity turns waste into electricity
We offer modular plants for different types of waste products - including household waste, wood chips from forestry, or industrial waste heat - that we turn into power.
The core component at the plant is a new type of turbine system based on the Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) technology. We patented this ORC system and proved it cost-effective and highly profitable also in small-scale units, today ranging from 50 kW to 2.5 MW of electricity.
By a robust system with few moving parts, a simple installation and minimal maintenance, European heating plants as well as landfills in developing countries can turn waste into value, contribute to a greener energy system and significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
The system is delivered pre-fabricated and installed by a pipe connection of the heat source and a cable to the power grid. Our customer’s become their own power producers and either cut their current electricity costs or generate revenue from selling electricity externally. While there are other companies with similar technologies on the market, their units are either smaller or larger than Againity’s units, or they operate in other market segments.
The Againity journey started in 2013 in Norrköping. We have reached a fleet of 20+ ORC units sold and while we continuously establish new markets, our main market segment today is northern European district heating plants. We are a dedicated team of 14 co-workers and board - with the founders still active in the management team. Together we have a vast experience of turbine development, production, business development and export of energy systems to emerging markets.
