Grapphmatech is Swedish graphene materials technology company on a mission to deliver next-generation materials for a brighter, more sustainable future. The potential for graphene is enormous – the smallest volumes can increase strength and conductivity without additional weight, lower friction or even increase the energy storage potential for batteries. However, graphene has struggled in large-scale applications due to its tendency to clump together when mixed. Graphmatech’s patented Aros Graphene hybrid material overcomes this, enabling the large scale production and implementation of graphene in a cost effective way. According to the International Energy Agency, aluminium industries will use about 1020 TWh from unsustainable energy sources (coal, oil and natural gas) by 2030. Reinforcing Aluminium with Aros Graphene® yields in composites that are stronger, more corrosion resistant, and higher conductive than aluminium. Such composites dramatically reduces the aluminium consumption in different sectors. Our graphene technology reduces the energy put for aluminium production by 50% which correlates to a saving of 645 MtCO2e/year. Aluminium-Aros Graphene composites can also potentially substitute other metals such, as copper, in a variety of applications (e.g. electrical vehicles, heat exchanges, and cables). This, in turn, would make the other substantial saving in CO2 emission.
